JCrew Fair Isle sweater with biker leggings (and NM consolidation sale…)

J.Crew fair isle cashmere sweater (sale here)

As suggested by J.Crew catalog, I wore black pants with my new luxury green cashmere sweater today. Black apparently makes this sweater more stand out! After couple wears, I think this sweater worth every penny it asks for. It is way thicker than all other cashmere sweaters in my closet, and doesn’t get fuzz balls easily! You won’t regret having it if you live in a cold place, as me.

All Saints Ridley leggings (here)

When static electricity gets annoying (in dry winter days), I prefer heavy cotton leggings over nylon ones. My trusty cotton/modal leggings are made by AllSaints. The heavy cotton blend jersey gives great butt lift and thigh control. The paneled design is great with biker or riding boots. After dozens of wash, the color is still as new, and fitting doesn’t change. I wear UK6/US2 (for your reference, my jeans size is 25).

Vera Wang lavender label boots (great style here)
Burberry high gloss down coat

Neiman Marcus consolidation sale (in store only) started today. Most of sale items got a second or even third price cut, plus an additional 25% off~ However, all sales are final. I took home two sweaters.

1. Rag and Bone chunky sweater (available online here). It was $495, and is $129.75 (item number 96817312). I bought size small, which was slightly roomy. The red leather jeans I tried in the below picture is made by Joe’s (different color here), and is on sale around $200.

2. Vince boatneck sweater (online available here and here). It was $285, and is $128.25 (item number 822508027743).

There are Vince V-back cashmere sweater (I wore here) sale at $64 and Vince shrunken turtleneck sweater (same here, in olive and navy) sale at $78. A great selection of jeans are sale at a price around $50. In addition, I tried several shirts (DG, Ralph Lauren, etc.) and a Gucci wool dress (was $1400, is $362) on the premier designer sale rack. However, my size is not available… I should have not worked till 7 today.

Thank you for your reading and have a good weekend!

Burberry double-breasted down coat and YSL cabas chyc

My favorite riding boots by Salvatore Ferragamo are on sale at Zappos for $343 (here). If you are interested in them, you may want to consider half size down (I wear 7B of this pair, rather than my normal shoe size 7.5B).

DL1961 angel ankle jeans (here)
DJP boots

A better way to team up with this figure-flattering coat might be a mini dress and ankle boots. On this chilly Saturday, when kids’ activities are scheduled all day long, I let the winter stand in the way of style. The YSL Cabas Chyc picked by my dear friend Alexa can pretty much mix and match every outfit. It is casual and effortless.

There are two pieces I am interested in: Burberry peplum jacket (Wendy wears here) and Isabel Marant wedge sneakers. How do you like the look below?

Happy Saturday! Woke up in a happy mood this morning (sufficient sleep, the long weekend and sunshine), so I decided to wear something bright, just like my mood!

Salvatore Ferragamo riding boots (sale here with two color options)
Chanel small shopping tote

My weekend started with a workout as usual, while my boys enjoyed their climbing class. I love doing regular workout, 3-4 times per week. It keeps me energized, fitted and healthy. I even did not feel that cold while walking outside after the one-hour workout!

My favorite Salvatore Ferragamo riding boots are on sale of 35% off now! I bought mine 3 years ago, and wore them in all tough winter days taking advantage of their rubber sole and low-heels. If you are considering of this pair, I would suggest you buy half size down!
ZARA sweater (on sale at store $29.99, item number #05755806809030)
After tried almost all ZARA sale sweaters, I decided to keep this grey high-low one (10% angora, 20% wool, 35% nylon and 35% acrylic). It is very warm, but slightly itchy (at a reasonable level) – I wore my club monaco wool/cashmere top (see my review here) underneath. Overall, it doesn’t look cheap at all and definitely worth the price.

Again, like most of ZARA tops, you may want to consider one size up for this particular sweater.

Over Sized Vince Toggle Hoodie Cardigan & Ash ‘Yes" Shearling-Cuff Wedge Boot

This men’s Vince Toggle Hoodie Cardigan in size small was found when I shopped for my husband. It’s a men’s sweater, but fits me well as an over sized outwear. I got it from Saks New Year’s day sale, and paid a little over $100 (the original price was $345). Isn’t it a great deal? You may also find it from some online stores, see here, here, and here. If you would like to buy from Saks stores, the item number is 822508996377.

January is definitely the best month for clothes and shoes deals. I ordered this pair of Ash Yes Shearling Wedge Boots from saks.com. They are warm and super comfortable. Currently, they are 60% off the original price. FYI, the item number is 0469688784440.

Rag and Bone Lisbeth Metallic Sweater in NYC

OUTFIT
Coat: Burberry down coat
Jeans: Citizen Humanit
Booties: Ash wedge sneakers
Scarf: Adrienne Landau fox fur scarf (great style and deal, here)
Bag: LV neverfull
We are in NYC, for Nathan’s birthday (today) and Christmas. Christmas is a great time to visit NYC, which explains all the crowds. The only thing you need prepare for is an outfit to keep yourself warm. My picks are a down coat, a fox fur scarf (a great style and deal, here) and wedge sneaks. What else could be better than burying the chin and ears in the super soft fur, when you walk in a chilling and windy winter day.

I quickly browsed Saks Fifth Avenue on the 5th Ave later this afternoon. An extra 40% off certain sale items and a second price cut in shoes seemed to make all Saks stores more crowded than before. I was attracted by a leather panel blazer, made by Cut25 (here, which is not available at saksfifthavenue.com).

It is size 2 (size 0 was sold out). It fits well, expect for the slightly long sleeves. The lamb leather is not super soft (it is thick!), but not stiff at all. It should be great with a white tee and with the collar standing upright. It was $850 and is on sale around $310. How do you think of this blazer? Should I keep it?
We normally stay at Hilton Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, which locates less than 20 minutes driving distance away from Manhattan. I like lying in bed, viewing Manhattan skyline. There is a shuttle nearby to Manhattan (port authority). We usually just pay $13 to drive into the city, and find a free parking spot nearby Columbia University (between 80 st and 116 st, along Riverside drive, where I lived before).
Thank you for your reading and merry Christmas!

Uneven hem sweater & riding boots: extra 40% off at Saks Fifth Avenue

sweater: Vince
jeans: rich and skinny
shirt: JCrew
coat: Burberry
bag: LV
necklace: JCrew
scarf: Gucci

Hi all! It seems that we won’t have a white Christmas this year. It will be sunny while chilly! We will celebrate our holidays in NYC this year, and my little boy’s birthday there as well. Can Santa find us there and deliver the little one’s gift to our hotel room?

Do you think henna a popular color this year? Vince has several styles (vests, sweaters and silk blouses) in this color. I bought mine early this year, and picked size medium instead of my normal size xs. Going two sizes up,  my rear can be covered by this sweater. My rule of choosing an oversized top is to check whether the shoulder fits.
I layered a chambray shirt underneath my sweater today, keeping me warm in the office and giving me a chance to wear my elephant necklace (my skin is super sensitive).

Does elephant mean good luck? Anyway, I like the color combination, golden, blue, yellow and red. It is from JCrew, and on sale at $42 right now.

Saks Fifth Avenue starts an extra 40% off comtemporary clothes today in store, and there will be an extra 50% off the day after Christmas and New Year. After that, in January, we may expect up to an extra 70% off sale like usual, as a consolidation sale in certain stores. However, I noticed that good things went super fast this year and many clothes were already gone. You might want to check the current sale.

Sharing you couple fitting room pictures which I took in Saks Fifth Avenue.

DVF fox fur vest, $354.60 (was $985)
