The vegetable garden in my back yard is harvesting.

This year, we upgraded our garden from a field to garden boxes.  We used cedar wood and made several rectangular boxes to grow our own organic vegetables.

Although we were very excited for a prosper and fruitful garden.  The weather did not cooperate with us.  This is the hottest summer I have ever experienced since I came to the US.  We even reached triple digits couple times!  Is the end of the world really coming?!

Anyhow, after a blazing hot summer, it is time for harvesting.   We enjoyed sweat snow peas and crunch cucumbers. Thai Basil added special flavor to our chicken or beef dishes, so  yummy.

J Crew cherry print sweater & Thai cuisine

Happy Friday everyone! Friday used to be my favorite day in a week, but is not anymore now: I am a HAPPY stay home mom now! I have a FULL plan for the next two months: short trips to NYC, vacation @ TX and a long trip to China…

All my shoes are still buried somewhere. I can see them, but can’t reach them before I unpack other huge boxes. A pair of pumps will certainly brighten up the whole outfit. I will restyle this outfit later.

This JCrew cherry print sweater has exactly same fit & texture as the leopard print one (see here). It is 100% merino wool, with 3 quarter sleeves. I am attracted by those cute cherries 🙂

Happy Friday :: Make popcorn without a microwave

Believe it or not, we don’t have a microwave at home. It doesn’t cause any inconvenience, except when we crave for popcorn. Recently I found a traditional way to make popcorn. It is so easy and fun!

What do you need:

a. A cooking pot with lid (glass lid is preferred);
b. a small handful of kernels;
c. some vegetable oil or butter.

1. Pour vegetable oil or butter into the pot;
2. Turn on the stove to a medium to high flame;
3. Put the kernels in;
4. Cover the pot with the lid;
5. The kernels will start popping; Slide your pot on the stove back and forth to make the heat even.
6. Wait until no more kernels pop up. It might only take a minute or two.
7. Turn off the stove and pour the popcorn into a big bowl. E-n-j-o-y!

Happy Friday!

We had a “formal” home-made family dinner tonight to celebrate Christmas. I cooked 8 dishes (but only 6 pictures here), including vegetable, seafood and meat. It took me about 3 hours.
