Freedom trail: Diane von Furstenberg Landy Top

My friends visited me from Cleveland, and we walked along the freedom trial together yesterday. It was hot, tired but had so much fun, especially with two cute kids. To get on the floral trend and stay cool, I wore my new DVF Landy top (it is on sale at $130 in Neiman Marcus, with extra 40% off!). This matte silk blouse has thick silk texture, which hangs really well! It says “dry clean only”, but  after I hand washed it last night, it stays like new even before ironing. It runs slightly large (as usual as many other loose fit tops).

@ old city hall, apparently we all like donkey!

Fun of geometry

I was immediately attracted by the colorful dots when I saw them on the sale rack in Neiman Marcus. Normally Chie Mihara shoes go really fast, but apparently  I had a good luck this time! I do notice that Chie Mihara doesn’t have a consistent size , and this pair definitely runs half size smaller. The heels are about 3.5”, no platform. If you try half size up, it is not narrow and reasonably comfy!

It is $284 on NM website with most of sizes still available (price seems to be a little bit different in store), and as cheaper as $242 on amazon with selected sizes. Good luck, girls! I think this a fun pair in summer!

My boy and his favorite toy!

Will blog from Los Angels or Shanghai soon ~

Outfit:

Houndstooth dress: H&M

Shoes: Chie Mihara (NM or Amazon)

Colors: neon pink, blue and mint

I flew back from TX Sunday night, and started to pack for the China trip. Though it is pretty warm in Boston, I have to wear long pants to cover my souvenirs — 3 palm sized bumps from mosquito bites I got in TX. I am allergic to mosquito bites :-(……

As our readers suggested, I decided to keep both bright colored jeans! Here is the neon blue one, from Paige (I bought from Tjmaxx @ much cheaper price, but also available here).

To be safe, I paired the jeans with a nude colored top, cameral colored sandals and near-nude-colored belt.

Outfit:

Top: Burberry

Jeans: Paige

Sandals: Chloe

Belt: Fendi

Bag: Balenciaga

However, I was thinking about pairing neon blue with some bright colors — like typical Juicy Couture  clothes doing, blue tee with hot pink, green or yellow prints.

When my boys did grocery in whole foods, I quickly checked JCrew.

JCrew Tippi sweater in neon pink

(very bright pink, not as light as that shown on the website! I took home one in size small, 100% linen; Yellow Tippi is cool too, which is on sale online.)

 JCrew pullover in mint

(I tried both medium and small, and like the loose fit of size medium on me. It is $34.99 in store. I let this one go, considering I already have a Vince neon yellow pullover )

Look, how daddy dressed the little guy today 🙂

Little guy doesn’t like flight at all, even a 4-hr one. How should I keep him happy for a 12-hr flight?

Sunday, @ airport. I wore my Sinclair 10 striped tee.

Hermann park & Space center @ Houston: colors

I know Houston is hot, but I did not expect it was that hot in May (over 90F!!!!). I had a very good time in Houston, visiting a good girl- friend of mine (thank you Jing for your warm hospitality, very delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner! Nathan also had a great time with Joline and you… the railroad mini-train!) and taking the little one to Hermann park and space center. The last time I visited Houston was 2003, time flies!

Outfit:

Blouse: Diane Von Furstenberg Karin blouse (it is sold out, but a similar one here; I like an over sized blouse over a pair of shorts)

Shorts: Rich & Skinny (from Neiman Marcus, still available in store; true to size, very comfy)

Heels: Chie Mihara nina pumps (they are walking shoes for sure! I wore them all day in Houston, in the park!)

Dress: Zara (last year style, but a similar one here)

Flats: TOMS classic slip-on (shoes in my bag all the time now! they are super light, easy to be carried around)

 Bag: Balenciaga city

Sunglasses: Fendi

Bracelets: Tiffany

Drop by and say hello to our fabby readers before I pack for tomorrow’s trip. Temperature dropped to 60F today here in Boston, and had to wear a sweater.

I checked our local runway Tjmaxx today, and there are new shipments of colored ankle length jeans (Paige and Vince). I grabbed a green (Vince) and a blue (Paige) one home, and need decide which to keep.

Some fun iPhone pictures Nathan and I took in the car :-). Will blog from TX tomorrow!

Greeting from Boston & Saks pre-sale (Milly Loulou linen/silk dress)

Thank you all for nice wishes recently. I am in Boston now, officially moved here!

This afternoon, one of our fabby readers told me SaksFifthAvenue pre-sale event (40% off ) and held my favorite Milly Loulou dress for me. I placed the order immediately from SFA at Cincinnati, phone number (513)4216800, size 0. This dress is made with nice thick linen/silk fabric, and it is true to size. Thank you, Lin!

Share some “random” pictures I took these two days.

I stringed a freshwater pearl strand yesterday, and it was the first time I did, not a perfect work. Planned to redo it (maybe longer) after we are settled down. It is actually fun and not difficult if you have the right tools! I purchased fresh water pearl beads on ebay, around $13 for a loose 15” string (8-10mm size, they are not perfectly round, but not cheap looking too). Silk jewelry thread (size E) and beads cord knotting tool were bought from Amazon. It is definitely an economic way to get a long real pearl strand.

Dressed my boy like a bumble bee (splendid little) 🙂
