In a post from last year (here), I introduced bee venom face mask. The mask was good, making my skin moisturized and pumped; howeve it caused breakouts sometime (for your reference, I have combination skin with oily T-zone). Eventually, my mom took it over and loved it. When I discussed the technology behind the mask with my friends, one lady suggested me to try active raw Manuka honey instead. Raw honey, itself, can make your skin glow without triggering breakouts. Instead, it even helps disinfect and heal minor wounds without forming a scar (more information available in this article). In addition, the active formula (bee venom) is thought to help correct fine lines and pump up your skin.
Wedderspoon sources some of the world’s finest, raw, organic, mono flora honeys from the pristine pastures and rugged mountains of New Zealand south island. The unique south island climate produces many remarkable honeys exclusive only to New Zealand and Wedderspoon… Raw honey is important, as this ensures that the natural bee enzymes, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals and activity present in raw honey remains unaltered, intact and are not destroyed during packaging. All our honeys are tested to ensure they never contain chemical residues and antibiotics.
I picked 100% raw Manuka honey – active 16+ (here), based on the originity of the product, online research and nearby 300 positive reviews. Share you my experience and couple thoughts:
1. I had a cold couple days ago, and my lips got dry, tight, crack and bleeding even with lot of lip balm. I decided to try honey therapy. Put a thick layer of honey on lips and let it stay for 5 minutes. Then, I washed out the residuel (I could not help swallowing some in) with warm water, using soft wash cloth. After two applications, my lips went back to normal.
2. Use as face mask. Put a layer of honey all over the clean face before shower, and let it stay for 10 minutes. I feel the raw honey works similarly as my bee venom mask. Skin feels soft and gets moisturized (like a layer of wax on the top…).
3. Eat as health supplement … (healthy stomach, antioxidant, vitamins and minerals…).
4. People report anthritis pain relief from topical application of it (check reviews).

Happy Saturday everyone! After an entire week of wet chill, Boston has a dry and warm long weekend! In the mid November, warm days are extremely precious in the northeast!
(Nikon D800, 85mm / f1.8G, shot around 2pm but stood in shade. We have a 50mm / f1.4G lens and find it more likely to give us distorted pictures, while 85mm lens seems to make the life much easier. Shooting portraits for kids, 50mm / f1.4G has no problem. We considered a 85mm / f1.4G lens, but hesitated to invest nearly 2k dollars. Couple months ago, Nikon newly released this 85mm / f1.8G lens at only $500. We immediately bought it home. It is only slightly heavier than the 50mm / f1.4G one. Though it is not as good as 85mm / f1.8G for low light indoor shooting, it is worth every penny and satisfies us so far!)
These Gucci suede shoes have been with me for 5 years, and are still my favorites.
Theory seems to release uneven hem sweaters every year. I bought mine early this year (click here for more pictures from my previous post), and it is great with skinny jeans/pants. My girl-friend bought one in crimson on sale last week from Neiman Marcus, however I could not find a link right now. Here is another style (from NM and from shopbop) pretty similar and it looks great!
Lastly, share you a picture of my new buy from Zara. I like Zara summer pieces more than winter ones. This print tee is 100% linen, with dolman sleeves and an uneven hem (lol, I guess I am addicted to uneven hem tops now). The loose fit easily balances any shorts. Plan to wear it during our Christmas vacation. Unfortunately, I could not find the link of this top too. There is another pure linen top, vintage style linen t-shirt, which I like a lot!
Thank you for your reading and enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Salvatore Ferragamo riding boots are my best friends in wet days. Rubber sole and 1.5” rubber heel are less slippery and resistant to water, while still keep you stylish. Though the boots are slightly heavy (still reasonable), they are super comfy and made for walking! Mine have been worn for two years (I bought in 2010 in NYC), and are still in a great condition! It runs half size large.
To celebrate the coming warm weekend after a snow storm, we had a sour-tasting competition today: lemon, lime and grapefruit! Six of us ate 8 sour fruits in minutes! Our team had a secrete weapon: miracle berry! ‘The berry itself has a low sugar content and a mildly sweet tang. It contains a glycoprotein molecule, with some trailing carbohydratechains, called miraculin. When the fleshy part of the fruit is eaten, this molecule binds to the tongue’s taste buds, causing sour foods to taste sweet. Miraculin works by binding to sweet receptors on the taste buds. At neutral pH, miraculin binds and blocks the receptors, but at low pH (resulting from ingestion of sour foods) miraculin binds protons and becomes able to activate the sweet receptors, resulting in the perception of sweet taste. This effect lasts until the protein is washed away by saliva (up to about 60 minutes).’ After had two little miracle berries, chewing fresh lime was just like drinking sweet lemonade for us, lol… However our competitors were too strong, and they ate more and faster than us, even without miracle berry!—-
Thank you for you reading, and have a good weekend!
