JCrew Fair Isle sweater with biker leggings (and NM consolidation sale…)

J.Crew fair isle cashmere sweater (sale here)

As suggested by J.Crew catalog, I wore black pants with my new luxury green cashmere sweater today. Black apparently makes this sweater more stand out! After couple wears, I think this sweater worth every penny it asks for. It is way thicker than all other cashmere sweaters in my closet, and doesn’t get fuzz balls easily! You won’t regret having it if you live in a cold place, as me.

All Saints Ridley leggings (here)

When static electricity gets annoying (in dry winter days), I prefer heavy cotton leggings over nylon ones. My trusty cotton/modal leggings are made by AllSaints. The heavy cotton blend jersey gives great butt lift and thigh control. The paneled design is great with biker or riding boots. After dozens of wash, the color is still as new, and fitting doesn’t change. I wear UK6/US2 (for your reference, my jeans size is 25).

Vera Wang lavender label boots (great style here)
Burberry high gloss down coat

Neiman Marcus consolidation sale (in store only) started today. Most of sale items got a second or even third price cut, plus an additional 25% off~ However, all sales are final. I took home two sweaters.

1. Rag and Bone chunky sweater (available online here). It was $495, and is $129.75 (item number 96817312). I bought size small, which was slightly roomy. The red leather jeans I tried in the below picture is made by Joe’s (different color here), and is on sale around $200.

2. Vince boatneck sweater (online available here and here). It was $285, and is $128.25 (item number 822508027743).

There are Vince V-back cashmere sweater (I wore here) sale at $64 and Vince shrunken turtleneck sweater (same here, in olive and navy) sale at $78. A great selection of jeans are sale at a price around $50. In addition, I tried several shirts (DG, Ralph Lauren, etc.) and a Gucci wool dress (was $1400, is $362) on the premier designer sale rack. However, my size is not available… I should have not worked till 7 today.

Thank you for your reading and have a good weekend!

My cold weather solution I: leather pants, jacket and down coat!

Down jacket: Theory
Leather jacket: Vince (here)
Leather pants: Theory ima leggings (online sale here)
Boots: Proenza Schouler
Gloves: Saks Fifth Avenue
Fox fur scarf: Adrienne Landau (style for 2012 sale here)

Temperatures in Boston go from extremely cold to extremely colder this week! A small single digit showed up on my thermometer this morning. It says on the weather website that the temperature may reach negative 9F with windchill. My choice for such an extreme weather is wearing the combination of leather and down jacket.
Top = 3 layers
1. Club Monaco wool/cashmere blend Julie turtleneck (sale @ $29 here, and my review here)
2. Vince crewneck leather jacket
3. Theory down jacket
Bottom = leather pants & boots (my review in a previous post)
Accessories = fox fur scarf + leather / cashmere gloves

Layering a leather jacket or fur vest underneath a coat is the best way to keep yourself warm in an extreme cold weather, especilly in windy days. Leather can make an unpenetrable wall to the weather, which is the reason that bikers and motocyclists always wear leather jackets. Since modern leather jackets mostly have slim fit, you can definitely avoid a bulky look even wear several layers. Same principle applies to leather pants, which do a better job to combat the cold weather than jeans.

Share a pair of booties that my girl friend picked (more information of the booties available here).

Salvatore Ferragamo Carlita boots ($283 at SF outlet store, item number 0480760150700)

Thank you for your reading and stay warm!

The look I like…

Proenza Schouler Lace-up mid boots & Theory leather leggings

Sweater: Vince
Pants: Theory IMA MAXIMUS leather leggings (black, here)

Hi all, I hope you had a relaxed long weekend! My girl friend and I spent couple hours in a nearby outlet today, and took home some deals :). The leather leggings by Theory (same style as here and here) had a second price cut recently, and has an extra 25% off now. The price was $835, and is $171.75. It comes in black suede, brown suede and gray leather. I sized up for my strong legs (size 2 instead of my normal size 0). It was purchased from Theory outlet store (phone # 5083847799, item number 8359181151).

The leather is soft to touch. Here is the measurements taken from size 2: rise = 8 ” (including the elastic waist band), waist = 27.5 ”.

The wrinkles are a little bit annoying, but they are seem to be there even on models. I chose to ignore them~

Proenza Schouler lace-up mid boots

The first time I tried lace-up mid boots!  I was also attracted by the leather and calf hair combination. They are nearly 90% off the original price (was $1,450, is $173.70). They are pretty comfy for the 4.25 ” heels, and did not give me a hard time during the 2 hours I walked on them.

Tomorrow I will post my girl friend’s picks from Salvatore Ferragamo, Tod’s, Theory, etc.

Thank you for your reading and talk to you tomorrow!

Vince camel sweater & Maison Boinet leopard ponyhair belt (extra 50% at INTERMIX)

Vince cozy cowl sweater
Maison Boinet belt (details here)
AllSaints ridley leggings (here)
Stuart Weitzman (here, or TAUPE here)
Celine mini luggage

Another mild day before snow and deep freeze comes! I put on my favorite heeled-boots, picking up my girl friend from the airport to shopping. We picked several jewelries from Juicy Couture with an extra 50% off. I admire the way that other ladies wear custom jewelries (like her), and plan to play with some simple ones by myself. After some research, I decided to give Juicy Couture jewelries a try, which have good reviews and are on deep sale! Will show some pictures here later.

In a previous post (here), I wear this sweater with a J.Crew belt. To be honest, I don’t really like that pairing after I reviewed the pictures: I want a belt with a different color and width!

Maison Boinet

Instead of buying this belt with $215 in Barneys, I chose purchasing from INTERMIX (though it is a final sale) with $44.5. The details of this belt (size and price) are available in this post. There is a good selection of Maison Boinet belts on sale at INTERMIX (here) now, including my favorite skinny belts in maroon and zebra print ($15)! If you are looking for some waist belts, you may want to check this brand.

Thank you for your reading and enjoy MLK!

Vince burgundy sweater jacket $159; ICB $99 at Barneys

Rebecca Minkoff (here, using code ‘ NMSHOP’ to earn a gift card)

Does it remind you Valentino? This is Rebecca Minkoff blake crossbody bag, which comes in lavender (the one I tried), orange (here) and mint.

Vince
This Vince sweater jacket, in burgundy, is great with cropped jeans. It is an alternative to a tweed jacket! Was $395, and is $159 in Barneys. The item number is 00505018708394. Size 2 fits similar to xs.

ICB
Another piece that caught my eyes in Barneys: ICB sweater (was $250, is $99). It has my favorite color combination, black and grey. It is soft to touch, and gives a casual while chic look with jeans. The item number is 00505020817268.

DVF sweater dress with Vince fur vest & CHANEL boots 60% off at SFA

This winter seems to be quite tame, and it is even close to 50F today in Boston. Though winter is far from over, each day that passes without a snow storm or super low temperature is another day close to spring. I am spoiled by the mild weather in Boston~

Taking the advantage of the warmth, I paired my Vince fur vest with a sweater dress. The warmth also gave me a chance to show my Tod’s ankle boots. It is my first purchase from Tod’s, but it turns me to be a fan of this brand! They are so comfy that I barely felt the heels, which are actually 3.5 ”! Ladies, if you are looking for a pair of high-heeled boots, you may want to consider TOD’S!

OUTFIT:
Dress: DVF
Vest: Vince
Belt: Maison Boinet (check here)
Boots: Tod’s (here)
Bag: Celine
Bracelet: Bulgari (here)

I quickly checked the consolidation sale in Saks Fifth Avenue today. There is an extra 25% off sale items, but this discount doesn’t apply to shoes department. However, there is a deep sale (60% off the original price) of shoes from big name designers, including Chanel and Christian Louboutin. Here is a pretty and comfy pair of boots by Chanel, in dark burgundy. It took me a while to let this pair go, avoiding the repeat in my closet. But if you plan to invest a pair of mid-calf boots, it could be a good choice. It is true to size, and on sale at $620 (original $1,550).

Thank you for your reading and have a good start of the new week!
